As, some of you may know, I don’t shave. I pluck. It started as an experiment ” I wonder how much more effective plucking is than shaving.” I made a little animated gif of my moustache growing in (that you can probably dig out by searching my archives if you’re so inclined.) And plucking yielded a much more lasting result.

I know I come off as a sortof effeminate girly man sometimes. And the fact that I only have about 8 total beard hairs (which makes plucking a plausible alternative) sortof backs up that assessment. But I just did something emphatically manly. Normally I just sortof have some tweezers laying around so that I can pick them up and yank out a few hairs when I’m thinking about something else or reading or something that doesn’t otherwise require my hands.

Today there were no tweezers on my desk, but I did see a pair of needle-nosed pliers in my toolkit. “what the hell, those should work, And I picked them up and started plugging away quite effectively… Then it suddenly struck me how rugged and masculine what I was doing was…

Watch out ladies. I’m a fearsome (yet hairless) beast.
