I mean… what’s 10 bucks get you these days? a cup of coffee? Surely not a full color 164 page graphic novel colored by yours truly? Well… half colored…the other half was wesley wong… so… half-dean?

So, in a strange sequence of events the folks over at Gutterzombie adopted a burrowing owl at the burrowing owl interpretive center in MooseJaw Saskatchewan. I was invited out to check out the owls by the director, and I figured I’d go in the summer when the owls are out and about and the drive isn’t one long examination of dead trees and snow. But, apparently Claire (the director) is moving out to Pelee Island to a different bird sanctuary at the end of the month, so If I was going to go, it had to be now.
Since it was the whole crew at gutterzombie that adopted “Sherman” the burrowing owl, I wanted to find a way to bring them along for the ride. So, I decided to do a little audio journal. This file gets us to moosejaw and I’ll edit down the audio from the burrowing owl center shortly, as well as post some photos and movies.

So I figured I’d learn the song “Asshole” by Dennis Leary on the guitar.
I looked up the chords and it’s a bunch of D chords with extra notes tacked on for the bassline. Now, to play a D I generally use my index, middle and ring fingers, with my pinky just sorta hanging out there in space. For this song I’ll have to use a different fingering, maybe my pinky on the B, my ring on the E and then swap the index and middle depending on what other frets I need to hit.
I thought maybe someone was kind enough to upload a fingering chart. So I searched for:
“Fingering Dennis Leary’s Asshole”
so wrong.
