I’ve been getting a bunch of phone solicitation from machines. Actually… about 50% of people who call here, aren’t actually people at all. Kindof annoying.

Today I received a call “This is Zentel, Please hold” and then the machine hung up on me. Ostensibly it was trying to route my call to an operator… but it hung up on me. Zentel, I don’t know what you do, but i know I hate you now seeing as even your machines are incompetent. Way to go.

I’m going to set up a software PBX if I can figure out how to do it on a mac without too much effort. it’s going to say “All calls are recorded, if you do not agree, hang up now.” then “Please take me off your list.”
then “push one to ring the phone, push two to leave a message, push three to hear a catchy tune, push four to hear a bad joke, push 5 to record a bad joke. to hear the menu again, repeatedly mash the bottom half of the keypad until it takes.”

That should
1. limit my annoyance with solicitors
2. be rad and fun
