So here\’s what George and I did \”today\”
January 22/23
9:00 Packed up what was left to pack in George\’s apartment.
9:30 Picked up u-haul
10 Showered and shaved and stuff.
11-2 Loaded U-haul and cleaned apartment. (took three hours because it was just George and I and he had a 3rd floor walk-up)
2PM -5AM drove through the absolute worst conditions I\’ve ever driven in (Rain, Sleet and Snow…. not even kidding. Plus Fog and Semi-trucks kicking up puddles into my window, OH! and there was a fire… but it didn\’t really slow us down in any way).
Did I mention I was driving in a big ass U-haul?
Through the Rocky Mountains?
So yeah… Slow going at 60kph all the way through… DID I say 60Kph? We\’ll I\’m not sure if we traveled 60 kilometers per hour…. remember this was a U-haul (therefor from Arizona) so my speedometer read something like 40 miles per hour. blah.
5:30AM locked Key in U-haul. (first time in my life I\’ve ever locked a key in a vehicle)
6AM Got the locksmith to open the door 15 seconds work, 45 bucks. Very Impressive.( Locksmiths are crafty people, I think i\’ve found a new and interesting hobby. ) If you need me to break into a U-haul, just lemme know I\’m sure I can do it.
6:01AM Back to the mountains again. This time non-divided highway, joy! additional death chances. With more drifts on the road this time. Walkie Talkies (or talkie walkies, depending on who you ask) are essential stimulants to keep the sleepies at bay and keep tabs on your Caravan mates.
7:00AM Sun Came up to shine in our eyes as we were driving
12 PM 22 hours later, and 12 hours late arrived in Calgary.
1 PM ate some food at George\’s Uncle\’s restaurant.
2 PM Unloaded George\’s U-haul
4 PM took U-haul back to the U-haul place.
5PM sat in a traffic jam for an hour.
6-8PM tried to keep george functionally awake as he drove home through extremely dense fog.
9PM Arrived in Edmonton.
10 PM Set up internet at Steph\’s mom\’s house and checked a few things.
11 PM Posted this newspost
probably about time for bed?
So yeah, I think George and I are a little sleepy.
Any math or times that seem off… Please remember. 38 hours of near continuous Driving/packing/errands. That\’s the point you should be taking home from this lecture boys and girsl.
All in all, we both escaped with our lives. George is back home in Alberta [where the Red-necked (yellow-necked?) Cowboy belongs.] And I can take a nice nap.
So I\’d say this turned out all aces.
George can fill in the lecherous details on his blog.
