So when I signed up for AOL instant messanger, the biggest advantage everyone told me it had over ICQ, was that you don\’t get any random chatters, or Spam messages. While that may be true for others, it is not for me. Which is pretty funny, because up until THIS POSTING The general internet viewing mass was unaware that I had even signed up for an AIM account. (By this I mean I haven\’t posted my aim name anywhere that someone might have yanked it and stuck me on a spam list), I\’ve decided to give you a daily posting of screengrabs of my Spam AIM messages, as I receive them, to prove that I have the best luck in the world.

let\’s kick things off today with a general boring spam message, it\’s not all that entertaining, I\’ll just prove that AIM spam in fact exists.

So this inker dude writes to me, (Gerry Alanguilan, good inker) and he\’s looking for Dave McCaig. He wants to tell Dave what a great job he\’s doing on Superman Birthright (and it\’s true, Everything about this book kicks butt, you should all run out to the comic store and buy it when it comes out, I\’ll notify you all here, when it\’s on store shelves.) Dave and I can\’t figure out how Gerry would know I was working for Dave-co, and we\’re scratching our heads. Then I googled Dave\’s name to find the connection. Have you ever put a book on hold at the Edmonton Public Library? When your book gets transfered to the pickup location you\’ve specified, this automated voice calls you up and says something to the effect of \”Dean Welsh, your book is in, Please come pick it up at they Idylwylde library\”. It was this deep vocoder scary man voice. I\’ve been told the name of the voice is E.L.V.I.S. for \”Edmonton Library Voice information system\” (or something of the sort) Last month Elvis got replaced with a less creepy sounding female vocoder voice. She\’s actually a bit more intelligible, but doesn\’t have as much charm. I\’ve decided to call her Lisa-Marie.
